Privacy policy
This page explains what happens to your data when you use the AI Engineer Study Library at ralmodiel.github.io/ai-study-library. The site is run by Roque Almodiel, a private individual, as a free, unofficial study resource. It has no accounts, no ads and no sign-up, and it sells nothing.
Who is responsible, and how to reach them
Roque Almodiel is responsible for this site (the "controller"). Until a private email address is listed here, open an issue at github.com/ralmodiel/ai-study-library/issues. Issues are public, so do not put personal details (or the value of your _ga cookie) in it; ask for a private channel in the issue instead.
What stays on your device
Your ticked checkboxes, the tab you were on, whether done items are hidden, and your cookie choice are saved in your browser's local storage. They are needed for the features you use, never leave your device, and stay until you clear this site's data in your browser.
Hosting
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., United States). Like any web server, GitHub receives your IP address when you load a page and logs it for security purposes. Legal basis: legitimate interests in delivering and protecting the site (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). GitHub, Inc. is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and decides how long it keeps these logs; see the GitHub General Privacy Statement. The fonts are served from this site too, so loading a page does not contact Google.
Google Analytics (only if you accept)
When you first visit, a banner asks whether this site may use Google Analytics. Until you click Accept, Google's script is not loaded and nothing is sent to Google. If you accept, Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google LLC, USA, which processes the data for this site under Google's data processing terms) receives:
- the pages and tabs you open, the links you click to leave the site, how far you scroll and how long you stay,
- what you type in the search box, once you stop typing (searches that look like an email address or phone number are filtered out first, but please don't type personal details there),
- the site that referred you, your browser, device type, screen size and language,
- your approximate location (country and city), which Google derives from your IP address. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
It sets the cookies _ga and _ga_CSFCML3KMM, which hold a random ID so
repeat visits can be counted. They are limited to this site's pages and expire 13 months after they are set
(visits do not extend them); if you decline later they are deleted straight away. Google signals and ad
personalisation are switched off, and Google is not allowed to use this site's analytics data for its own products,
so it is not used for advertising and is not linked to your Google account.
Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and the cookie consent rules of the ePrivacy Directive). Purpose: to see how many people use the library and which parts are useful. Retention: Google Analytics deletes event and user-level data 2 months after it is collected; aggregated statistics that identify no one (for example daily visit counts) are kept longer.
Changing your mind: use Cookie settings (here, or at the top and bottom of the library) at any time. Declining after accepting switches the analytics off, deletes its cookies and reloads the page without it. Your choice is asked again after about six months.
Google may process this data in the United States; Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the GDPR in the EU/EEA, the UK GDPR, or the Philippine Data Privacy Act
of 2012), you can ask for access to your data or a copy of it, its correction or deletion, to restrict or object to
its use, and you can withdraw consent at any time without affecting what happened before. The analytics data has no
name attached; to let the maintainer find yours, share the value of your _ga cookie through
a private channel (ask for one in an issue). Requests are answered within one month. You can also complain to a data protection authority: in the
Philippines the National Privacy Commission (privacy.gov.ph), in the EU/EEA or
the UK the authority where you live or work. No automated decisions or profiling are made about you, and declining
analytics does not change how the site works. The site is not aimed at children under 16.
Messages you send
If you open an issue or contact the maintainer, what you send is used only to answer and act on your request, and deleted within 12 months after the matter is closed. Public issues stay visible on GitHub unless you delete them.
Links to other sites
The library links to many other sites (Facebook, X, YouTube, course providers and more). Their own privacy policies apply once you follow a link.
The creators' content
This is an unofficial study index of public posts by Bashiri Smith and Melvin Vivas. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by them. It holds AI-assisted summaries and key points written in its own words, with a link to every original; the videos, posts, articles and guides belong to their creators and are not reproduced here. To have an entry corrected or removed, get in touch as described above; removal requests are normally handled within 7 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too.
